Jungmun Saekdal Beach

Turquoise surf, palm trees, golden sand. Still Korea?

Jungmun Saekdal Beach

중문색달해수욕장 · Seogwipo, Jeju

A curve of golden sand below green cliffs in Jeju's Jungmun resort area. It faces the open sea to the south, so the waves roll in big and clear, and it's one of the few beaches in Korea where people surf. This view is from the clifftop path at its west end.

Say it in Korean파도 pado · wave
Local tipWalk the clifftop path for this view first, then go down to the sand. In summer you can rent a board or take a surf lesson right on the beach; swimming is allowed only in the lifeguard season (usually July–August). The rest of the year it's a quiet walk.
